Parent Committee

The overall goal of Farmington Preschool Academy is to provide children and their families a safe and nurturing learning environment that supports the whole child in developing the necessary skills to construct their own knowledge and be prepared for a successful transition to kindergarten. Engaging parents as stakeholders, partners, and decision makers is critical in achieving this goal. This committee allows the Farmington Preschool Academy to include parents in decisions, planning and issues that affect their children. The committee includes parents, community members, and school staff that reflect the cultural diversity of our student population. The committee reviews school goals and priorities, demonstrates support for the schools, advocates for children who have been under-represented in the program, and provide information regarding the impact that cultural background, socioeconomic status, and disability conditions within the community may have on the child referral, identification, evaluation and serve the delivery processes.
